Yeezy Gap engineered by Balenciaga

In January 2022, the "Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga" collaboration was announced, marking a partnership between Kanye West and luxury fashion house Balenciaga. The collection, unveiled alongside West's studio album Donda 2, featured a range of products such as T-shirts, hoodies, jackets, and jeans. The initial release occurred in late February, accompanied by a comprehensive lookbook and mobile game showcasing the entire collection.

I contributed to the collaboration by creating 3D versions of various garments, handling modelling, texturing, optimisation, and designing human avatars. These assets were utilised in the mobile game and featured in promotional materials on social media and email campaigns.

At the core of this campaign, avatars took centre stage, assuming the role of "fashion models" to spotlight the latest additions to the Gap product line.

Aesthetically, a fusion of modern and retro techniques gave birth to these avatars. The process involved creating high-fidelity renders using reference photos and optimising for poly count and web resolution.

The end result, steeped in a 90s-inspired video game style, manifests as something uniquely slick and nostalgic, offering a fresh perspective on fashion presentation.
